Level 2 — technical (Python)

You are comfortable with a computer and a spreadsheet, and you want the tool that goes beyond what Excel can hold. This is the entry door to Level 2.

What you'll be able to do

• Write Python that reads, filters and groups a real dataset
• Clean missing values, duplicates and inconsistent categories
• Produce charts that answer a question instead of decorating a report
• Work in Google Colab from a modest computer or a shared machine
• Publish a notebook another person can open and rerun

Modules

• M1 — Python you can actually use — Variables, lists, loops, functions — through data problems.
• M2 — pandas — Load, filter, group and join tables.
• M3 — Dirty data — Missing values, duplicates, dates and inconsistent spellings.
• M4 — Charts that answer a question — One question, one chart, one sentence of conclusion.
• M5 — Publishing a notebook — Reproducible work someone else can rerun.

Capstone project

One dataset, one real question — Choose a real dataset — your employer’s, a public Cameroonian source or an open dataset. Clean it, answer one stated question, and publish a notebook with the limits of your answer.
